What are some native american tribes without casinos on their land?
Q. I know that many native american tribes have opened casinos on their land in an attempt to solve economical issue they face. What are some tribes that have rejected this idea? I know the Haudenosaunee (Iroqouis confederacy) refuses to build casinos. Who else? Thanks in advance!

A. The Hopi, continue to stand strong against casino on their reservation. There are other "rez" that do not have casinos. As one colleague mentioned, there are several California Nations that do not have casinos. Also, there are a couple of Nations that do not dispense gaming funds to individuals, the funds go directly back into the tribal budget. NOTE: The Dine' (Navajo), opened up their "Fire Rock Casino," east of Gallup, NM, back in Nov. of 2008.
