Adoptions in Italy numbered 3,158 in 2006. The majority of these were overseas adoptions, and adoption from within Italy is relatively difficult.

There are currently 11,000 couples in Italy on the waiting lists of various adoption agencies [1].

As in most jurisdictions, prospective adoptive parents are required to undergo assessment and must show that they will make suitable parents. Italian law requires adopters to be married (or living together) for at least 3 years. There are also restrictions on the age difference between the prospective parents and the child or children they wish to adopt. Adoption by gay couples is illegal in Italy, as is adoption by lone would-be parents.

Why are people so judgemental of the honest?
Q. In Italy they have a system where by if you are unmarried, young etc and you are pregnant you can drop your baby off at a centre completely annonymously, it is a room with a baby crib in it and a camera facing the crib and nowhere else and when someone enters they place their baby in the crib and leave, no one ever sees the persons face as no one enters the room until they have left it. The baby is then sent to a family for adoption. This system is also taking place in other countys such as Germany. I was just wanting to know why do these countrys boast about how they do not have a very high rate of teenage pregnancies or women who have a baby out of wedlock and they critisise the English and Americans for doing the things they say they… [cont.]

A. You know the question you ask is a good one...but here's the deal, everyone is so caught up in the moral issues of pregnancy...To have the baby, to abort the baby, to give it up for adoption, etc. Here's an idea...Birth control...97% of births are due to unprotected sex, no pills , no condoms, nothing! In this day in age there shouldn't be the amount of pregnancies we are having...Children having babies...all of this is due to our moral standards , what we deem OK, the standard. We are slowly creating a world with no morals , no manners, no respect for anyone or anything, and no hope! Until both men and women realize that having unprotected sex is the worst thing you can do in your whole life we have no chance !

A. Hi Jo Real, Here is the link for information on intercountry adoption in the Philippines: You will find all the requirements and the procedures there including phone numbers and email addresses to get you started. It says "Any adoption applicant interested in adopting a Filipino child/ren (either relative or non-relative) may contact the nearest Central Authority on Intercountry Adoption of their country (if Ratifier or State Party to The Hague Convention) or any ICAB accredited Foreign Adoption Agency who is responsible in these Prospective Adoptive Parents preparation and conduct of their Home Study Report." Your home study will determine if your home is suitable for a child, and if so, which child you can best meet the needs of.… [cont.]

Abortion.. What are your views?
Q. Trapped... Time Has Run Out For Over 49 Million Americans. By Another's Choice.. Who is trapped by the "choice" of abortion? Both the mother and the pre-born child. Abortion is legal through all nine months of pregnancy in the United States. The infamous Roe v. Wade case legalized abortion throughout the United States. The lesser-known companion case, Doe v. Bolton, defined the "health" exception. This case solidified Roe in allowing abortion through all nine months if the pregnancy threatens the life or health of the mother. The vague word used here is "health." What does "health" mean to you? Doe v. Bolton defined health to include, "physical, emotional, psychological, familial, and the woman's age - relevant to the wellbeing of… [cont.]

A. Well, I couldn't resist answering, but I didn't have time to read your book. Basically, I assume you are saying you are pro life. That's good. It disgusts me when I hear people say that "it's my body and I have a right to do what I want to it." Well, you're right! Do whatever you want to your body - tattoos, multiple piercings, unprotected sex, suicide, etc - nobody cares. But you have absolutely no right to kill another human who happens to be living inside your body. That's murder. Let's say I'm walking down the street and someone decides to hitch a ride on my back. That doesn't give me the right to kill the person. The baby is not 'yours'. You are simply a vehicle for bringing a person into the world. If we are to allow killing of… [cont.]
